When buying your first board you shouldn't go to some toy shop you want quality so you should check your local skateshop. They
might be more expensive there but will save you money in the long run.
Trucks- For trucks you should look for quality iron with good strong kingpins and other components. And the secret
is to get a 16 mm wheelbase. Usually 50$ and up.
Berrings-For berrings you will find most of them have a different ABEC rating on them ABEC 1,3,5 and 7.The
higher abec rating the better. They are anywhere from 15$ and up
Wheels-When getting wheels the best sizes to get would be 52 mm or 54 mm.The larger wheels are usually meant for longboards
or tougher terrain. The wheels with graphics on them are usually around 45$ for a set of four and are usually built to last
longer and the blank wheels are around 20$ and up.
Hardware-When looking for hardware its pretty hard to go wrong theres not much difference to buying hardware except for
there is different sizes, the larger sizes are for if you have risers under your trucks to prevent cracking. The hardware
is usually 5$ and up.
Griptape-Same deal bassicly all you need to know is not to get your griptape wet or the grip can
ware off, if this happens you can buy a new sheet for around 9$.
The Deck-The deck the biggest part of your skateboard and is 7 ply maple. With the pro decks they usually have
1 or 2 layers of different color wood such as purple, blue and so on.They are the ones that have graphics. The
are around 80$ and up but you can get blank decks for aound 45$ and up. If you buy your first board when you are
younger like 12 and under its best to get a smaller size because they are more lightweight and allow you to do tricks
more easily.
Taking care of your skateboard-Its not good to get your skateboard wet because it could rot your deck or make you hardware, trucks
and berrings rusty. It's good to take your skateboard apart and wash the components in specials cleaners on a monthly basis.
Enjoy!
